Day 2 landscaping and... did anything happen?

If you ever get the chance to go through a construction or major landscaping job, you will notice that there are often times a day or days where even though there was a lot of activity it doesn't look like much happened.

Today was one of those days for us. What was happening was a lot of clean-up of day one's demo. They also refined the removal of all the old turf, smoothed out the work area, Prepped the zones for the drip irrigation systems, and laid some initial piping. Hauled off some old broken landscaping bricks and such.

So the bobcat was running all about and the guys were going back and forth with shovels and brooms and pickaxes and after all of that this was the end of day two.

I know, other than removing that giant pile of dug-up sod and stray bits of concrete it doesn't look very different, from this angle. But if we look towards the street...

Ta-Da! Look at all that rock! The grey small rock is going to be one of the primary fill-in stones and it is very dusty so it is hard to see but it has a very nice mix of shades of grey and blue and even some very pale green. It will really nicely match our next-door neighbor's rock which should be nice for both of us!

The BIG rocks are going to be accents and maybe boundaries for some of the flower beds. More comes tomorrow and not all will stay, we will have a chance to pick out some favorites. I kinda already want that little dude towards the left. The pareidolia is making me see a happy face. lol See it?

This may help if you still don't see it, can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
